Miss Bes8ie Dunster, of Toledo, is becomiDg- well known as an artist. Slie is a daughter of the late Dr. Dunster, of the University medical faculty. Sincc a child slie has drawn cartoons and illustratious, but only within the last two years has she taken up the work as a prefession. Her posters of last season were most favorably commented upon by connoisseurs in that sort of thing, and with the oncouragement which she received from those trained to know art when it is presented, she has taken very rapid strides in her work. For some time she has been at work upon the illustrations of a volume of sonnets entitled "Songs of My Violin," which Mr. Alfred Donaldson, of New York, is to bring out early this winter. Miss Dunster is also under contract with the Current Literature compaoy, and Mr. George W. Cabio to draw posters and covers for their publications. lier flrst work to attract attention on the book stands was tho cover of thelülander. Special covers designed by hor were uscd by tbc magazine for Ita Easter and Chiislmas issues of last year, and although the publication is purely amateur, Miss Dunster's work received the attention of soveral jounals that have their eyes out for budJing talent in the realm of art. Also for tho Clack Book, the last of the minature magazines. Miss Duuster has done niuch commundable work, both in illustrating and poster drawiu?.
