Epidemic Of Suicides In Detroit
Detroit had thrce suicides in one day. Mrs. Francis Schischko, 205 IJrady street, was found by onc of her sons dead in a rocking hair with a bullet hole in her iorehead and her oldest son's revolver in her lap. She leaves five children aud a husband from whom she had separated. An unknown man jumped upou the rail of the Detroit and Wiudsor ferry boat as it was luaving the doek and shouting ; "Ilere goes nothing" leaped into the river. He refused to hang on to life preservers thrown to him and soon drownèd. Charles Witzke, a labore r, j aged 58, sent bia family, consisting of a wife and üve children, to look at j Ringiing Bros.' circus parade, and j then took advantage of their absence : to end his life by hanging hiraself to a j crossbeam in the garret.
