Frank; A. Stivors left Thursday for 'Liberty, Ind., and Cincinnati, Ohio, to altend to important legal business J. F. Seiter, of Elkhart Ind., is taking Fred Huntoon's place in the United States Express office for a few days. Wilson West and daughter, Dora, of Sylvan, have been visiting Burt VVest who is ill at the hospital at Ann Arbor. ' Miss Electa M. Henion, formerly of this city, now in Portland, Oregon, is to be married soon to Mr. J. Fred. Duthie. Jas. H. Maya Ielt yesterday mormng for Indianapolis, Ind., where he will lócate and hang out his shingle as an attorney. - Prof. A. Hall, of Ann Arbor, and his wife returned home today so wellpleasod with their stay that they say they will surely be back next season. Ray and Chas. Smith and Clarence Noble, of Ann Arboi-j returned yesterday frora a yacht cruise to Charlevoix and Pine Lakeduring the past few weeks. Fred Staebler, in ronrpany with Misses Kuima and Ruse lloehm, visiteü in Fieeöom last Saturday. Frank French, of Constantino, who has been attending the suramor school at Ypsilanti, was taken sick Thursday and on Friday rapidly became worse and dicd. Slrs. O. M. Miss Jessie Doane and Miss Rentschler aro taking a combined vacation and business trip tlirousrb the east. Portland, Boston and New York will bo among the points visited. Dr. Charles L. Mix and wite arrived in this city last week from Europe whore they have been for two years. They will go to Chicago after a short visit at the home of Kev. W. E. Caldwell on Church street. Joshua Leiand, of Northfield, will leave soon for Kirkwood, Kansas, where he has been located two years as teacher in the military academy. His brother T. Leeland, formerlv of the University and now in Bay View will accompany him and teach in the same institution. Miases Eugene and Melinda K. Mogk and Wm. A. Mogkleft on a three weeks' trip Monday, all by water. They will visit Niágara Falls, Toronto, Thou=and Islands, Montreal. Quebec, Chicontimi, and upper Canada. At Niagara Fails they were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Stimson, who will from there on accompany them. They are enjoyiiig a lovely outing. The Ann Arbor Light Infüntry, 63 strong, left Thursday morning for Island Lake to take part in the State encampment. The Y. M.C. A. has practically settled the question of a location for its building. It will be located on N. Fourth Ave. just east of the Court House. It is the intention to at once begin the erection of a line brick building.
