Tliere has been recently deposited in the British museum what is probably the most venerable piece of furniture in existence. It is the throne of Queen iatasu, who reigned in the Nile valey some 1,000 years before Christ, and wenty-nine years before Moses. This now dilapidated object seems to be of ignum vitae, the carving of the legs being inlaid with gold and those of the back with silver.
