The dtngo is the wild dog of Australia. It is a atrong, flevcs, ugly, dum6y looking ereature, whieh can run very quickly and which can hardly be tamed. The dingoes often combine lnto packs, for the purpose oí huuting, and hy helping eacli other this way they can often selze and klll even such vcry awlft runners as the emu. The emu is a curious bird that can outstrip the quickest greyhound, but by divldlBg themselvcs into groups, th dingoes can tire it out, and then they all feaat on its big body. The chase often lasts a whole day, and both hunters and hunted may travel thirty or forty miles.
