At ten o'clock today the 'Varsity team will meet at foot ball headquarters on Volland street for the purpose of elocting a Captain. This action is made neecssary by the official announcement I that Captain Johnny Wombacher will Lot return, the fever havingleft him too weak for hard work. The new captain will direct the team this af ternoon when it lines up for the second game. By some mistake an announoement that Miami College would play today was givon out, but suchisnot the case, as our opponents are from tho Ohio Weslyan University I at Delewarc. The prospecta of the team are certainly very good. It was with somc mUg students watched the men line up against the Normal last Saturday, for the Ypsilanti men are heavy and inake up a etrong team while our eleven was new and the lino was said to be weak. Their fears soon vanished, howovcr, for after the first ten minutes our line proved all right and the man behind did unusuallj good work. The final score stood 2i to I 0 in favor of Michgan. The line up for the game was as follows: Michigan. Normals. Teetzel UB Gordon Snow L.T Warner Lehr L. G Wood Baker C Broeaiaulae Calev R. G Straight Juttner B. T Lawrcnce Bennett R E Richmond Richards Q Waters Barrabee L. II Morse iHoirs B.H Letter Hannan B. Wilson On Monday morning a training table was established at Prettyman's and during the week hard work has continued. On Wednesday the Normal team came over and gave the 'Varsity some excellent praotice. Tliey will return twice next week for the same purpose. On Thursday afternoon the soruts succeedea in scoring on the 'Varsity. This was the flrst time they have done so. A second and a third scrub eleven l were organized and the three teams will take turns in furnishing practice for the 'Varsity. Several old men have returncd and are at work. All idea that the line Í3 weak seems now to have disappcared for the past week's practice with a slight shifting of the men have made itstrong. Several of the men have received slight injuries but there seems to be no likelihood of weakness on this account. Coach Perbert says the lino up for today's game can not be given until aiternoon.
