A fire which started ia the Power block, at Cleveland, spread to adjoinjnfr structuves, fanned by a hi?b wind, and before it could be controüeil 81,000,000 worth of property wíis destroyed. The Power, Blackstone and Wilshire buildings, all owned by J. B. PerUins, were the principal ones to suffer. The fire staitcd by the explosión of a larjre can of benzine in the lithojTraphiiiïr establishment of Johns & Co., in the Power block. Windows were blown out and several employés eseaped with difficulty. Johns & Co., lose 8225,000; J. h. Iludson, clcfthier, 8100 000. The losses of scores of tenants, cspeuUUy in the Power and Blackstono buildings, the latter of which was occupied maiuly by lawyers with costly librarles, will be very heavy. About 75 per cent of the losses are eovered by insurance. Lieut. MeFetters of the fire department feil through the floor in one of the buildings and was badly hurt The wife of Prinee Hohenlohe, the imperial chanccllor, of Germany, died at Berlin of infiammation of the lungs.
