Join Lucy as she shines a spotlight on the works of a single author. This month she looks at the novels of Victor LaValle.

Novelist and short fiction writer Victor LaValle has been the recipient of numerous awards including the World Fantasy Award, British Fantasy Award, Bram Stoker Award, Whiting Writers' Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, Shirley Jackson Award, American Book Award, and the key to Southeast Queens.

In addition to five novels, two novellas, and a short story collection, LaValle is the creator and writer of two comic books.
