Kegotiations are under way between the Ann Arbor Education Association (AAEA) and the Board of Education with neither side making any statements concerning the first official meeting. The talks between the two negotiating teams will include such thorny issues as teacher salaries, fringe benefits, sick leave, class size, school calendar and personnel rights for the 1971-72 master contract. The present teacher contract expires Aug. 15. Bargaining for the administration are Terry Crane, chief negotiator nd controller for the schools; Stanley Zubel, assistant superintendent for personnel; Richard Creal, assistant superintendent for planning and administration; S a m Sniderman, assistant I superintendent for instruction; Paul Banninga, Carpenter School principal; and a junior or senior high school principal to be selected. Chief negotiator for the AAEA is Herman Healy. Others are Albert Chaffee, president; Jim Scheu, executive secretary;. Merton Campbell of Slauson; and Torn Bahe of Scarlett. According to Scheu, the first meeting last Thursday was to set the rules on what was to be negotiated and i have a general understanding of the sessions. Date for the next bargaining session has not been set.
