'Not Accurate'

For the record, please be advised thati the quotation appearing in your article I of 9 November and attributed to me is not all all remotely accurate. Iri no way did I come reasonably close to making any such statement on class size as reported. Furthermore the statement appearing in your paper does not in fact serve as any kind of accurate reflection of the position on the issue so far taken by the Board of Education, such actual statement of position being easily findable in my recorded comments submitted directly to the fact-finder and indirectly to your reporter. (Editor's note: Mr. Crane says "the statement attributed to me would be applicable only if both parties agreed to in crease class size as a source of revenue for funding increases in teacher salaries." This qualification was not included in The News' story.)
