Teachers Voting Friday On New Master Contract

Ann Arbor Education Association President Harold Collins said today that all teachers should bring copies of the proposed master contract to the tAEA ratification s e s s i o n Bcheduled at 7 p.m. Friday. The teachers will vote their favor or disfavor with the tentative contract with the Board of Education at the Pioneer High School auditorium. Teachers who cannot attend the ratification session should mail their marked ballots to the AAEA offices, 2222 Packard, Ann Arbor, before Friday.j Collins said the AAEA offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. tol 5 p.m. today through Friday forl teachers who wish to piek up copies of the contract and ballots. Teachers who did not leave self-addressed envelopes with the AAEA offices in June have not received copies of the tentative contract, Collins said. Copies have been mailed to all other teachers. Collins said 452 "yes" votes are needed to ratify the contract. A buffet luncheon for new teachers in the school system will be sponsored by the AAEA Sept. 3. Collins said provisions of the new contract will be discussed at that time.
