Thirty-tw high school seniors from the Ann Arbor area have been named semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program, it was announced today. The list includes 12 students from Huron High School and 12 pupils from Pioneer High. Last lyear, a total of 39 students from Ann Arbor High School were semifinalists. Of this number, 10 received Merit Scholarships. The students are among 1 1 5 , 0 0 0 semifinalists i n t h e Ination, constituting less than lone per cent of the graduating seniors in the United States. The local seniors were among the highest scorers in Michigan on the National Merit qualifying test, given last February in 17,500 schools nationwide. The winners of the Merit Scholarships, who may receive up to $1,500 a year for four college years, will be announced by early May, 1969. The semifinalists from Huron High School are Holly S. Cooper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard J. Cooper of 902 Aberdeen; Carolyn E. Cutrona, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis J. Cutrona of 3075 Provincial; Janice H. Henle of 402 Awixa; Jeffrey L. Hough, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Lewis Hough of 2608 Devonshire; Alan A. Kortesoja, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur H. Kortesoja of 866 Wickfield Ct.; Faith M. Mitchell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claybourne Mitchell Jr. of 3685 N. Dixboro; Bryce R. Parry, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Parry of 2588 Hawthorn; Janet L.
