Walter W. Hill, 17, a senior at Pioneer High School, has been awarded a certificate of achievement in the 1968-69 National Achievement Scholarship Program for outstanding Negro students. The certificate says that Hill has "demonstrated ability for college achievement through high performance in the National Achievement Scholarship Program in 1969." More than 900 finalists from throughout the country competed for about 350 financial scholarships for college study offered by the National Achievement Scholarship Program. Hill was named a finalist in the program last month. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hill of 906 Daniel. Hill is director of the Ann Arbor Community Center.
