The chairman o the 26-member North Central-University of Michigan evaluation team yest e r d a y expressed optimism about Huron High S c h o o I's chances for accreditation this spring. Dr. G. Sutherland Hayden told the Huron faculty yesterday that he was speaking only informally for the team, and that actual accreditation would be decided upon later. The team visited Huron High from Tuesday through Thursday of this week, interviewing students, teachers and administrators. Hayden commended the Huron High students for being "positive and courteous," praised the "wide range" of course offerings and the "magnificence" of the facility itself, and expressed particular interest in the creative thinking course. He indicated the improvements could be made in providing more courses for nonacademically oriented students and in making the 55-minute periods more flexible to meet student needs.
