Ten íesidents of the Mack Elemeníary and former Jones School áreas are needed for a teacher-aide training program sponsored by the Ann Arbor public schools in cooperation with the Model Cities program. The training program is federally financed under the Educational Profession ment Act and also supplemented by the Model Cities Board. Trainees must be at least 18 and in reasonably good health. They cannot have been employed as teachers or aides for the last j four months. They may be college seniors or gradúate students in noneducational fields or persons with previous experience as a substitute teacher for only 50 per cent or less of the last school year. The training program will be 184 hours long and trainees will be paid $2.15 per hour. Upon completion of the program, each trainee will be eonsidered for admission to classroom as-I signments. This program is designed to j improve the quality and effectiveness of education at Maek j School and to supplement theJ regular teachers. It will alsol offer the residents of the Model I Cities área a chance to explore! opportunities in educationl fields.
