Parent-teacher Units Ok Tax

Two Ana Arbor parent-teacher I organizations have passed reso-l lutions in support of the 1 millage package for operationsl which will be presented to thel Ann Arbor School District votersl May 13. The Bader School Parent-j Teacher Association voted unan-l imously to approve the millage I package. The Executive Board of thel Lawton School Parent-Teacher II Organization has also voted tol support the millage - with certain qualifications. The Lawton resolution, which was not passed unanimously, "urged the passage of the millage for the pragmatic reason that . . . (the PTO) wants the schools to open in the fall of 1968. However, realities of financing dictate that. priorities must be assigned which provide first for basic education and secondarily for the enrichment program." The five-year package of 11.66 milis will include a 4.5-mill renewal and 7.16 additional milis. The Chamber of Commerce and the Ann Arbor Board of Realtors also passed resolutions Isupporting the millage proposiItion.
