Sunny skies and pleasant temperatures attracted a heavy voter turnout by 11:30 a.m. today in the annual school elections. By that time, 3,671 voters had cast their ballots to decide the fate of millage and bonding issues offered by the Ann Arbor School District and the Washtenaw Intermedíate School District. Ann Arbor voters also are electing three new trustees to the Board of Education. The 3,671 figure is 712 more persons than had voted by the same hour last year. In 1968, more than 16,000 persons went to the polls, despite sizzling temperatures in the mid-90s. This was considered a heavy turnout. Some 17,000 voters are expected at the polls this year. No early returns are available from the out-county precincts. In Ann Arbor, the vote return by precincts was as follows: Precinct 1 - 116; 2 - 523-42; 4 - 71; 5 - 233; 6 - 40; 7 - 34; 8 - 135; 9 - 158; 10 - 87; 11 - 155; 12 - 102; 13 - 12 - 102; 13 - 150; 14 - 170; 150; 14 - 170; 15 and 16 - 10017 - 104; 18 - 66; 19 - 119; 20 - 64; 21 - 132; 22 - 180; 23 - 100; 24 - 120; 25 - 68; 26 - 63; 27 - 124; 28 - 119; 29 - 121; 30 - 94; 31 - 91; 32 _ 120; 33 - 92; 34 - not reported; 35 - 124. Ann Arbor School District voters are casting their ballots on a 6.67-mill levy for school operations, plus a $4.9 million bond issue for construction of the city's fifth junior high school. The Washtenaw Intermediate School District (which includes the Ann Arbor School District) is asking for a half-mill increase in the tax levy for special I tion programs I Nine candidates are vying for three seats on the Ann Arbor Board of Education. They are James W. Anderson Jr., Dr Ronald C. Bishop, Henry Johnson, Mrs. Mary Jane Shoultz A. Gerald Gottleib, Cecil W Warner, Ivan R. Kemp, John c' Cruz and John C. Schneider. AU registered voters may vote on the millage issues of the Ann Arbor School District and the Intermedíate School District Only property owners and their spouses may cast ballots on the I Ann Arbor School District's I bonding issue. The polls opened at 7 a.m I and will remain open until 8 I p.m. todav. The places of voting this year for school elections are for the first time the same as those used in city elections. The polling places were listed in Sunday's editions of The News.
