Etftor, Thatóws: " ?l l ■' &.. f) Im coacerned that so little j ment or news has appeared in your paper concerning the upcoming millage vote June 11. The schools are cutting back now to an alarming extent. Failure to support the millage renewal would surely be disastrous. A discussion of the millage vote issued by the Library indicated that the millage will be described as an "increase" on the ballot because the expiration date has passed, when, in fact, it represents only a RENEWAL of the existing rate of taxation. I am also surprised that the Ann Arbor News has not clarified this for the public. Some voters, seeing the word "increase" on the ballot, may well vote "no" for a simple renewal of the current operatmg budget. A "yes" vote on June 11 should be encouraged by all PTO's and concerned residents of Ann Arbor. (Editor's note: The News has noted the wording of the ballot in relation to the true situation several times.)
