Millage Needed

Editor, The New-.hJjrM.pgmThe 6.7 millage hfalinW Ann Arbor School District are being asked to renew on Nov. 19 represents 20 per cent of the school district budget for 197374. When it is a fact that 85 per cent of the budget is needed for salaries alone, it is clear that this 20 per cent is needed for operating expenditures. Failure to pass this renewal millage would result in a drastic reduction of staff and programs. Likewise, it is equally important and prudent to maintain and refurbish the existing buildings and equipment. The one-mill levy will be allocated for this over a five-year period. These proposals make sense to the majority of the members of the Haisley PTO Board. We wish to go on record as supporting both proposals.
