[ John (Jack) Starwás of 2300 Gale, Superior Township, will Iseek the Democratie nomination for the County Board of Supervisors in District Three. This district is composed of Superior, Salem, Northfield and Ann Arbor Townships. Starwas is expected to have opposition in the Aug. 6 primary. Salem Township Supr. Floyd Taylor is the only announced Republican candidate. Starwas has lived in the county for 40 years and in Superior Township for 10 years. He is associated with Kliemann Real Estáte in Ypsilanti. He has been a coach at Ypsilanti High School. His previous governmental exJierience consists of five years in the past on the Ypsilanti City Planning Commission. He attended the University of Michigan and was graduated from Eastern Michigan University. He has been a member of the of Supervisors from 39 to 13, there is a chance that the popYpsilanti Lions Club for 23 years I and organized a youth athletic club in Ypsilanti which he sponsored for seven years. i Starwas said, "With the reduction in the size of the Board ulation outside the large i ulated areas will be in dangerl af being overlooked. I want tol be in a position to safeguard their interests. "With the metropolitan área expanding so rapidly and the cities moving outside of their boundaries, it is necessary that careful planning be done for the future," he said. "People in the affected areas should have a voice in the changes," he said.f He and his wife, Myrtle, havej two sons, one serving in the Ma J rine Corps and the other a stM dent at Eastern Michigan. M
