A -Iota! of ,859 students has enrolled to date at Washtenaw Community College for the fall semester, a WCC official reported last night. Enrollment is still continuing, however, and WCC officials are projecting a student body of 4,009. The college will be offering a total of 35,493 credit hours this semester. Of the projected enrollment total, 3,050 students are expected to be in-district resident, 923 out-district and 36 out-of-state. About 1,806 will be enrolled in general studies, and 2,128 in occupational studies. Previous estimates of the fall enrollment ranged from 4,200 to 4,500, but even 4,000 would represent an all-time enrollment high for the college. At last night's Board of Trus-I tees meeting, the. board awarded a $25,000 contract to John-1 son, Johnson and Roy for thel sodding of the new Huron Riv-I er campus, and the installation of a sprinkler system. 1 In other action, the board approved the appointment of John Wooden, dean of general studies, as director of the Learning Resource Center. Dean Wooden replaces Michael Keresztesi, acting director, who has been granted a leave of absence. The board also accepted with gratitude a gift of $100 from the Ann Arbor Evening Lions Club to provide assistance to a WCC student who is in need of help and has a sight handicap. The contribution, the fifth such annual gift, was presented by William R. Dieckman, Lions president.
