Judge Kinne presided in the circuit court for the first time Monday morning. The first lawyer who appeared before him was Patrick McKernan and the first decree he granted was a decree of divorce. The fact is worthy of remark that the last act of the retiring judge and the first act of the in coming judge was the severence of the galling bonds which bound uncongenial souls in matrimony. The case Monday was that of Mrs. Sarah A. Runion, of this city who sought a divorce from her husband, George W. Runion. The couple were married by Justice of the Peace Joseph Fray, at Whitmore Lake, March 28, 1862 and have two children. Mrs. Runion charged desertion since 1852 and that although her husband was a blacksmith able to earn $30 or $40 a month, he had contributed nothing to her support for the past five years. The decree of divorce was granted.
