Madison, Wis., Jan. 11- The Wisconsin supreme court Tuesday rendered a decision in the celebrated case of Daniel Wells, Jr., against Peter McGeoch which grew out of the failure of the famous lard deal in Chicago in June, 1883. The decision reverses the judgment of the county court of Milwaukee, and instructs the lower court to render judgment against McGeoch for $181,640 with 7 per cent interest from July 17, 1883, to date of judgment. The lower court decided against Wells because McGeoch pleaded that the transactions were gambling.
