High School Doings
An examination in Englishgiammar was held yesterday. Lyceum No. 1 will carry out a specia program next Friday, and the public are cordially invited to be present. Wm. Blair will lead the Christian Association this afternoon, when the subject for discussion will be "Unity of Effort." A translator in Virgil, the other day, somewhat exaggerated the weeping powers of woman when he said that "Queen Di.io Blled a pail with gushiug tears." The term.essays of the firet, second, third, and fourth vear students will be due, reckoning from next Tuesday, in three, four, üve, and six weeks respectively. Of Rice's Evangeline, which will be heard here Wednesday, the Toledo Bee says: " The initial presentation of Evangeline at Wlieeler's opera house last evening, was welcomed by a large and thoroughly represen tative audiense. The very best class of theatiegoera were to be seen, and if prolonged applause and repeated encores of every specialty presented, were any enterion of approval, then Toledo has unmistakably endorsed the praises bestowed everywhere on this most unique and musical of comedies."
