Miscellaneous Mishaps

Ottumwa, Iowa, Jan. 16.- The Wabnsh passenger train from Des Moines and a water train of the Ottumwa & Knkland road, collided four miles west oL here at 9:15 o'clock Sunday night. H. E. Peck, the Wabash engineer, jumped and escaped with a slight sprain. His flremari was scalded to death George Miller and Isaac Buddenstein, engineer and fireman of the other train, were killed and buried under tbe wreek. Several persons were badly but not fatnlly hurt The colusión was caused by a mistaku of the Rock Island train dispatcher.
