Marquette, Mich., Feb. 17.- The official count will probably be necessary to decide whetber Seymour or Breen is elected as Moffatt' suocessor, although Seymour is still leadme, accordine to the most trustworfchv reporta that can be obtained. Allowing Breen's claims in Alger, Mackinac, and Manitou counties, it leaves Seymour only 157 in the lead. Breen is here aud declares in an interview that he will contest the election on the ground of interference of the lumber and mining companies, pre3sure at the polls, fraud, bulldozing, etc. Breen declares that Mr. Bates, secretary of the Republican state eommittee, met hitn at Ishpoming and declared that he meant to defeat hiiti, not on account of party issue, bnt becaUi.e there were certain men in the uppr península wbo wanted him defeated, and B'een ciilms that Bates flooded Marquette and Mjnominee counties with raoney.
