Pittsburg, Pa., June 19. - For some time Mormon missionaries have been doing a bhriving business in Westmoreland county, this state. They have gathered in a'oout fifty convcrts, some of whom have already lef t for Salt Lake City. Some of these people are respectable and well off in a temporal sensf. Citizens of a settlement near Greenburg a few weeks ago held a meeting and ordered the missionaries to leave. The order was not obeyed 'and they went to the house tviiere one of them was stopping, took Lim out of bed, carried him to the woods, and whipped him unmercifully. They theu told him to get, which he is suppossd ' to have done, as he has not been seen since. His name is George Stevens. The othar missionaries say they will go in a fewdays. If they don't the citizens say tbey will treat them to the same medicine that they gave to Stevens.
