Adrián, Mich., July ( - Hon. John J. Adam died at his home in Tecumseh, aged 80. Ha was boru iu Paisley, Scotlaud, edueated at Oxford, carne to America in 18á6, taught languages aud mathematies at Meadeville academy, and carne to Michigan in 1S31. From 1851 to 1S6S, when he resigned, he was general auditor of the Lake Shore road, and duriug his residence here has been member of the legislatura, state senator, auditor general, and regent of the university. He was both an able and deservedly popular man.
