Mackinaw City, Mich., Aug. 25. - John D. Gillett, the cattle king of Illinois, fatherin-law of Governor Oglesby, of that state, died here Saturday morning of a complicated kidney and heart trouble. He leaves a widow, one son, J. F. Gillet, and six daughters, Mrs. Oglesby, Mrs. David T. ïittler, Mrs. J. E. HUI, and Misses Jessie, Amy and Nina Gillett.
