A New Bridge At St. Louis

8t. Louis, Oct. 8.- The Merchante' Bridge company, which was organized two years ago to build anothor bridge across the river at the noith end of tbe city, bas at last got down to business. Plans have been adopted and the site has been selected. The structure will span the river at the front of Ferry street. Three spans of about 600 feet each and the usual long approaches will be buiit. The bridge will be us?d for railroad trafflo exclusivaiy, unies $.')00,OÜO of bonds are takeu by Mie citizens of norlh 81. Louis, in which event a wagon road will also be oonstructed. The bridge will be about two and a half miles north of th3 present bridge, and will cost $1,000,000. All the necessary franchises have been secured. The enterprise is a movement against Gould.
