Chicago, Nov. 19. - Wbat purports tobe a terrible murder was the disco very at a late bour Saturday nigtat of the bleeding forui of a young and handsome girl lying on Grand boulevard, near Forty-third Btreet. The girl was insensible and was bleeding profusely from a dreadful wound in the back of her Lead. Upon being removed to the hospital, the physicians found that she had received a compound fracture of the pkull, evidently liaving been struck with a blunt instrument. Every effort was made to restore consciousness, without avail, and the girl died an hour af ter reaching the hospital. She was neatly dressed, and from all appearances was a respectable sewing-girl. A farge aambei of person called at the morgue yESterday, but failed to rscognize the remains. Later.- The identity of the young woman has been diseovered. Her name was Eva M ilchell, her former residence Washington, Ia., and she lived Jwith her brother Oliver Mitchell, a south side street car conductor. A flagman at the Forty-third street crossing says he saw her get into a buggy with a man but don't know who the man was. The flagman was detained and a young man named Sturgis, who was a frequent caller on Eva, was arrested, but there ia noevidence toconvict either as yet.
