Uuited Siates Marsbal Desmond bas a large numher ot writs of ejectmeut, and he proposes to enforce the lavr to the letter against tbe settlera. Tbere is a large number of these, nearly all of wbom claim tbat bey tooK up these lands in good faitb, supposing them to be public lands, and many of them have patents from th gover ment. This move just at the beginning of winter will undoubtedly work great bardsbip to many of these people It is understood tbat it is tbe Litchfleld heirs, who live in New York state, wbo are urging tbese ejectmeots. Tbey derive their title to tbe la neis in question from the old Des Moines River Railway & Navigation comDanv.
