WiNKiPEG, Man., Nov. 27. - James Carnie, oue of the Hudson Bay compauy's chief factors iu the arctic circle, bas arrived here and reports that he met Lord Lonsdale two months ago away up in the aretic circle. He was traveling with two Esquimaux guides and one personal attendant. His English servant had left him three weeks bafore, and he was pushing northward as rapidly as possibl . He walked all day, and dis played such rmarkable endurance tbat the natives regard him as a prodigy, and refer to him as "Man Past." He even tires his guides out. He spoke confidently of being able in bis simple mode of traveling to reach the north pole if his attendants would stick to him.
