Ann Arbor, Mich., Dec. 26, 18S8. The annual meeting of the Washteuaw Mutual Fire Insurance Co. will be held in the office of the company at the court house in the city of Arm Arbor on VVednesday, the 9th day of January, 1889 at 10 o'clock A. M. for the purpose of electing flve directora for theensuing year, and to tracsact such other business as may properly come before such meeting. A full attendance is desired. Wm. K. Childs, Sec. The Ashtabula Times: "The National Theatre Company made its flrst appearance here at Sinith's Opera House last night, presenting the old but very popular drama, Hazel Kirke. A great many companies who present a large numberofplays, andplayat cheap prices, do not present very artistic or attractive entertainments. Those who went to see a fine piece, well presented, came away well satisfled. but those went with the expectation of being humbugged, were happily disappointed as the play throughout was presented ia a very able manner. Of those deserving of special mention was Harry Gray, who took the difficult part of Dunstan Kirke, the father of Hazel, in a highly artistic manner; the Hazel Kirke of Miss Rose Goodall was very good, she being a verv charming actress. In f act the entire cast performed their several parts well, and in a manner satisfactory to everybody. The entertainment concluded with the farce, Senator McFee, with George Harris, as Mike Maloney. From the time the curtain raised for ths farce, to the time it was lowered, the audlence was kept in one continual howl. As a comedian, Mr. Harris made a decided hit, as his humorous stvle of acting is positively irresistible.".
