Mrs. Rhoda Holmes Nichols, vice president of the New York Water Color society, was born in Coventry, England, ber father being vicar of Littlehampton. She came to the United States in 1884, and her canvases at once attracted attention. She has latterly worked almost exclusively in water colors.
