P. of I. regular meeting Thursday evening, February 19. Treasurer Whitaker stated that the contingent money was all paid out last week. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Bowen will entertain the grangers at their home Friday, the 20th. Dyspepsia is not what ails our republicans. The sudden change in the Detroit Tribune is what makes them groan so. Those owning land through which the new road was laid, and who received their pay last year, have received notices to open the same in sixty days. Scholars attending the Chelsea high school from this vicinity, eat their dinners at H. S. Holmes' store, instead of the school house, now. The professor forbid them the school house at noon, for disturbing a century plant. At the lyceum Saturday evening, by-laws were adopted, and the following officers elected: W. E. Stocking, president; F. Buchanan, vice-president ; Estella Guinon, secretary; E. Beach, treasurer. The next meeting will be held Saturday.
