By the by, there has never been so much vogue given to milk as there is just now. In fact, there are hundreds of clnbmen who have never seen as rtrach sinee they went ftrom one bottle to another. You are asked to have a glass of hot milk, or a glass of hot vichy, just as you are asked to have a cup of tea, or some crerne de menthe. In a cut glass goblet, standing on a bright hued plate, the milk and vichy is particularly appetizing, and it is marvelous how much of it the men drink. It is the result of offering a simple drink in an attractive manner. Service in this world means so much, and really it seems to be more appreciated by men than by women. A boÜed potato and a piece of beefsteak on a hot plate, with a glittering süver f ork and a bright steel knif e, with the butter in a díjjnty little pat, and the bread in a smooth cut piece, with the whitest of napery, is more apDetizins: than a drnner of twenty courses
