WHAT A DIFFERENCE YEAR MAKES: In quiet contrast to their 1953 Christmas, spent in an Alaskan orphanage, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Boehm and family of 1708 Charlton Ave., today enjoyed a peaceful Yule in their Ann Arbor home. Last year they had 35 youngsters to help entertain in the home. Opening presents today are (left to right) Mrs. Mary Jean Boehm, Bobby, 5, Dan Boehm, and Ruth Adrienne, 3.

Main and Washington Sts., turned on their headlights to cut through the gray blanket. Before noon, however, the mists had lifted and the day had become bright.
