The parade included 11 bands from high schools throughout Washtenaw county, several antique cars, a smattering of floats and some assorted clowns.

They're Booming Barbecue: Larry Skinner (holding reins) and Lou Gainsley tour Ann Arbor in a 1890-model surrey to advertise the St. Francis Dad's Club chicken barbecue Sunday at the church grounds at E. Stadium Blvd. and Winchell Dr. Proceeds from the event will go to the church's area youth program. The barbecue, open to the public, begins at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. A tent has been pitched at the site in case of rain, and take-out orders will be accepted.
