Ann Arbor's first public parking structure, the 35-year-old carport at First and Washington streets, is being repaired. City Engineer Leigh Chizek said nearly $250,000 is being spent to replace deteriorated concrete, redo the electrical system and install new parking deck surfaces on the three-story structure. The carport will remain closed until the work is completed around mid-October, said Chizek.
