Unearthed Streetcar Tracks on S State St
Year:
1956
Published In:
Ann Arbor News, July 27, 1956
Caption:
The Past Reappears: Something missing from the Ann Arbor scene for many years--streetcar tracks--has made a limited reappearance. Streetcars went out of service here about a quarter of a century ago. The tracks shown were uncovered during work involved in widening and resurfacing S. State St. in the campus area. George H. Sandenburgh, superintendent of the city's Department of Public Works, says these tracks probably are the last ones remaining. Others were removed years ago.
