MAYORS CONFER: Work on legislation to return all of the state intangibles tax to the cities was begun yesterday at a conference here by the mayors of five Michigan cities and a representative from Detroit. Attending the meeting of the legislative committee of the 1960 Conference of Mayors were (left to right) Ann Arbor's Mayor Cecil O. Creal; Stephen Carey of Detroit representing Mayor Louis Miriani; Mayor Mark E. Storen, Highland Park; Mayor Robert E. Teifer, sr., Trenton; Mrs. Florence Willett, Birmingham; and Mayor Albert J. LET 'EM RING! Ronald Frey, 7, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd E. Frey of 1301 Brooks St., convinces Mayor Cecil O. Creal that there ought to be a campaign to ring bells on July 4. Creal agreed that the idea, initiated in the East recently and enthusiastically promoted here by Ronald, is a good one to "reawaken the true spirit of '76." Creal said he will suggest all types of bells be rung on Independence Day.
