LEARNING TO OPERATE RESUSCITATOR: Deputy sheriffs and members of the Ann Arbor police and fire departments, and the city and state police at Ypsilanti are learning how to use the sheriff's department's new $400 resuscitator-inhalator. Sheriff Jacob B. Andres, in the above photograph, is showing Trooper Charles Allen of the Ypsilanti state police post and Sgt. M. G. "Red" Howard of the Ann Arbor police how to revive a person nearly drowned or asphyxiated. One of the county jail prisoners is serving as "victim" for demonstration. Purchase of the equipment was authorized recently by the board of supervisors.
