W. H. Black of Belleville was one of a crew of electricians who yesterday put the circles of lights into working order on the 152 "season's greetings" plaques scattered throughout the business districts of the city. The plaques and other decorative material were installed last week on 76 posts by a Grand Rapids firm as part of a Christmas season promotion program financed at a cost of some $2,000 by the Ann Arbor Chamber of Commerce and the Retail Merchants Association.

E. E. Calkins, well known Ann Arbor resident and founder of the Calkins Drug Co., on State St., died this morning at his home on 1004 E. University Ave. He had been ill two weeks.
