FORKS IN A CORK: It appears that all the weight of these two forks stuck in a cork is out in space but in reality the system is very stable, says Nick Oddo, a fourth grade teacher at Eberwhite School. He gave the explanation Saturday at special science classes sponsored by the Ann Arbor Recreation Department for fifth and sixth graders. The center of gravity of objects was discussed and youngsters made toys to test the theory. Intrigued class members are (left to right) Fritz Ferri, Steve Wells, Phil Hall and Adam Carr.
