Five persons become registered voters and others wait their turns in the city clerk's office at City Hall this morning on the last day for registration. The office will be open until 8 o'clock tonight to handle last-minute registrants. After tonight, however, no more registrations can be taken before the Aug. 5 primary.

George E. Goodwin, 84-year-old elector living at 1408 Miller, maintained his high-participation voting record this morning as he registered his choices for mayor and councilman. Goodwin said he has been voting regularly "ever since I was 21" and had participated in "just about" all of the elections for which he was eligible, including all of those during the 25 years he has been an Ann Arbor resident. He is being assisted by Wreford J. Goulding of 816 Carbeck, who is helping with the Republican Fifth Ward transportation service. Goodwin voted at Wines School.
