First Commencement In New High School: The first class to be graduated from the brand new Ann Arbor High School took their diplomas last night from School Supt. Jack Elzay. Pictured here in their traditional caps and gowns are some of the 391 members of the 1956 graduating class and a portion of the audience, estimated at about 5,000 persons on hand for the ceremony in the gymnasium. Dr. John A. Hannah, president of Michigan State University was the commencement speaker.
