Displaying some of the handcrafted items that will be available during the annual Christmas sale of the Ann Arbor Potters Guild are (left to right) James Heinonen, Laura Vaughn and Maria Carter. The sale is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at 201 Hill St. Items for sale will include lanterns, plates, teapots, mugs, bowls, lamp bases, hanging planters and sculptures. There will be a special table for young people.

A key man in Ann Arbor Potter's Guild activities, which include the group's spring sale on June 3, is clay-maker Edwin Lindberg. Here he loads up an old bread dough mixing machine to prepare another batch of clay. Lindberg is also a potter. The annual sale on the first Sunday in June will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the guild's grounds at 201 Hill St. Demonstrations of wheel thrown techniques will be given throughout the day.
