Second Baptist Church's Unity March for Martin Luther King, Jr.

 In 1983, members of the Second Baptist Church of Ann Arbor began a decades-long tradition of honoring Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Every January, congregants led a Unity March from downtown Ann Arbor to their church at 850 Red Oak Road.

The Rev. Emmett Green of the 115-year-old Second Baptist Church stands under the arches of the building that the church began planning four years ago. Started in December, the new structure, 850 Red Oak Road, is expected to be completed in November. The 700 members now meet at its church at N. Fifth and Beakes streets.
