MOVING DAY FOR HOUSE: This house, reported to be about 80 years old, took a ride yesterday from its long-time location at 331 S. Ashley St. to a new site at 808 Henry St. Owned by the Coca Cola Bottling Co., which has its plant directly behind the structure's former location, the house was moved to provide room for a plant addition. Harold F. Kleis, secretary-manager of the firm, said the addition will be used for a cooler and salesroom. It will be about 50 by 60 feet in size and constructed of cinder block. The transferred house, which has been vacant for several months, will be placed on sale by the company, Kleis said.

BURNING BEDDING PLANT: Explosion of a furnace boiler caused flame and smoke in the basement of the Ann Arbor Bedding Co. plant at Pontiac St. and Broadway this morning. Firemen were hampered in gaining access to the blaze because of thick smoke from smoldering bedding materials. There were no injuries.

CENTER OF OPERATIONS: This tower is the center of operations in a transit mix concrete plant. The crane is depositing stone which, along with sand, constitutes the "aggregates." In this tower, stone, sand, water and cement are mixed by weight (volume in the case of water) and deposited into the waiting truck seen underneath the tower. The blended ingredients are mixed en route to the job.
